Pediatric emergency medicine

Several doctors, male and female, sit at a table collaborating. A female doctor with blonde hair has an image on a tablet and another doctor is pointing to it.
Educating the next generation of physicians
Explore our fellowship opportunity in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Our department sees about 45,000 patients per year and is staffed by pediatric attending physicians and nurses who are dedicated to the facility on a 24-hour basis.

About our fellowship

The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Cohen Children’s Medical Center offers an ACGME-accredited three-year fellowship training program in emergency medicine. This program is designed to take advantage of the vast resources of Cohen Children’s and Long Island Jewish Medical Center with an emphasis on clinical medicine, teaching, research and administration. Fellows are chosen from a highly competitive pool of residents graduating from ACGME-accredited pediatric and emergency medicine residency programs.

The fellowship consists of a variety of rotations including orthopedics, ENT, gynecology, ophthalmology, toxicology, anesthesia, critical care, trauma and adult emergency medicine, as well as an ongoing course in research design. Monthly simulation exercises are conducted at the Center for Learning and Innovation, a corporate university run by Northwell Health. Ample time is allotted to allow for a meaningful experience in developing and completing research projects including an ongoing course in research design.
